Walé Adeyemi has emerged as one of the UK’s most recognised and successful fashion designers. He has spoken at Oxford University on fashion, become a proud Princes Trust Ambassador, designer and stylist to international A-List stars, and not to mention recipient of an MBE in 2008 for his services to fashion.
The Walé Adeyemi collection began in 1998 as a menswear line, ‘somewhere between the kerb and the boutique’, merging aesthetic and functional attributes to the garments. He was presented with the Fashion and Design Award at the Carlton Multi-Cultural Awards in 2001.
His menswear namesake label, B-side by Walé, has a style cut from an impressive knowledge of style trends from years of styling and designing for some of the most noted fashion icons and entertainers in the world, including Alicia Keys and Estelle.
Through the hard earned credibility he has gained, large corporations looking for a route into the young British style markets have tapped Walé for his ingenuity and design flair to lift up their brands. Caterpillar, Nokia, Martell, Slazenger, Sky and New Era have all been clients of Walé, using his expertise to produce valid collaborations to capture the imagination of their audiences. When national Health & Beauty chain Superdrug needed to launch the next fund raising Princes Trust Charity ‘It’ Bag to rival last years design (favoured by Kate Moss), they turned to Walé. April saw the launch of the exclusive Walé Adeyemi designs for Superdrug featuring the It bag, nail files, flip flops and umbrella and went onto raise over £100,000 for the Prince’s Trust.
Walé Adeyemi’s influence and achievements in fashion and beyond, coupled with his acclaimed design and celebrated collections have positioned him as one of the principal style leaders of our time, and made him a positive role model for all.
