Over the weekend i met up with, 20 year old Ellis Deaves aka DeaviOus. A solo artist from the sticks of Cornwall now based in the city of London. Deavious has recently released his third LP “Tin man Army.” An album with a great twist of which is based on the Warner Brothers novel, wizard of OZ. Two and a half years to make and finally the launch of Tin Man Army is here.
What influenced your LP?
My LP was influenced by things that I’ve done and things I’ve been through and places I’ve been really… a lot of it has been moving from Cornwall to London that’s a big influence on it. I think it reflects a lot of that… and just general relationships with people and that sort of thing.
How long did it take you to put it together?
It took quite a while. I stared making it in my second year of college, so it took about two and a half years. I was creating things in-between, doing college and Uni work, jobs….so yeah i would say around two and a half years.
Tin man army is the name of your LP, how did the name come along?
The name originally came from my origin from living in Cornwall and the tin mines and all that sort of thing. Then I just started developing almost like a Variety around it and then I started to work with the whole tin man wizard of OZ sort of thing for the album.
Who features on the album?
I feature a few artists, a few from Cornwall and from London. Including such artists as Robbers, Jazmyn Mary, Shommie, Trixx and QaiSS. The album was mastered by Koven, an up and coming dub step producer.
The album has quite a lot of variety throughout the whole LP but.. umm Tin man army is probably one of my favourites, if your going to listen to one song I think you should listen to that.
